that we are surprisingly talking about, karen. paul ryan, joe biden both of them hanging out in pennsylvania campaigning. a state that save for sandy and things that have happened with that perhaps relative to it it was considered a blue state. do you think the obama campaign's worried? >> no, i don't. this is one of these examples of what i would call a head fake a little bit. i think the romney campaign is trying to spend a little time and money in there to see if they can shake anything loose. i don't think are going to be able to. i've talked with people in pennsylvania. the biggest problem that mitt romney has in pennsylvania particularly the western start of the state, those bain ads were devastating. that is a part of the state, those are blue-collar workers. when they hear about companies being shut down, jobs being shipped overseas, these corporate raiders, that really had a huge impact there. and that's the kind of thing you just -- you can't undo with a couple of days or so of big advertising. >> okay. quick, tony. >> just real quick. i'm from pennsylvania. there is n

sunday an evening rally in virginia beach. vice president biden canceled a weekend event there as well. the first lady scrubbed a tuesday event in new hampshire due to possible bad weather. weather could become a factor in the final push for votes and if the effects linger, might even affect turnout on election day. that said, there are so many factors to consider, so much forecasting in the form of polling. there's new cnn/orc numbers tonight on the race in ohio. you all know how important ohio is. president obama holding a four-point lead in this new poll, slightly outside the margin of error and significantly right at the crucial 50% mark. so the question is, what is driving the numbers in ohio right now? chief national correspondent john king has some answers. >> well, anderson, that narrow ohio lead for the president is within the poll's sampling error but it is yet another poll showing the president with a small persistent lead in the state of ohio. let's take a closer look at why it is happening in this state that is so important in the pick for president. here's the main reason

obama and vice president biden. they tend to dampen more in the eastern part of the state. it is in the recent trial were the political strength has been. host: you mention the president has not been in north carolina recently. are people taking notice of that? guest: yes. except for the convention, the president has not really campaign in north carolina since april. we have not really seen the principles year at all. governor romney was here a few weeks back and made an appearance in ashville. that was mainly to have a visit which is very important signal to send to religious conservatives that it was ok for them to go for a mormon. aside from that, mitt romney has not been there. vice-president joe biden has been here several times. this has been a battleground state, but not in the top bobrun state. clearly we have not seen the major candidates here. we have seen a lot of campaigning. we have seen something like $80 million spent here in campaign ads. we have seen as much advertising here as much as a other battleground states. not as much as zero i a, but as much as any other state.

senator obama crossed america with senator clinton and senator joe biden and other good democrats talking about how bad the economy already was. median family income was lower than that was the day i left office. poverty was up. all of these things were true before the crash. advocates. then came the crash six weeks before the election. he took office when the economy was losing 100,000 jobs a month -- 800,000 jobs per month. now, the economy lost jobs for about 15 months. when it started again, when president obama's jobs programs started kicking in in the three months, we have had 5.8 million -- in just 33 months, jobs as of yesterday. when somebody criticizes an office holder, you have a right to ask them, compared to what? let's look at the most recent comparisons. if you do not count the losses in the crash of president bush and look at the seven years after the brief slowdown we have had when the dot com stocks crashed a bit. just the seven-year period. there were 2.6 million private- sector jobs twice as many jobs, 5.8 million. in 33 months. job.
